AFMC
Examination Date: AFMC First week of August - This is a premier medical institute of India which is acknowledged as the center of excellence for education and research. They provide great chances of growth for nursing with assured career prospects in defense services. The institute was set up on 1 May 1948 by the act of Parliament of India on the recommendation of BC Roy committee through various defense medical organizations.

The AFMC is presently affiliated to Maharashtra university of Health and Science (Nasik) which is recognized by the Medical council of India. The courses usually starts in July hence, the application form are started inviting the new talent from the May session for the Written Examination.

The candidates can also apply for the vacancies through online or offline mode with the help of Prospectors that are made available to them at all major cities General post office, Head post office from the time of advertisement published. The course duration for AFMC is four and a half excluding one year of internship in the same college and the candidates parents required to sign a bond agreement to serve armed force defense service for a specific period of time.
The individual should fulfill the following criteria before applying for the entrance examination-
• The candidate should be the citizen of India or subject of Nepal or Bhutan or of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan. Must be unmarried, marrying during the course is not permitted. Minimum age limit is 17 years and maximum age limit is 25 years.
• Candidate must have cleared their board exam in first attempt along with 60% of aggregate passing marks in all three science subjects and 50% of aggregate passing marks in English and others.
• Male candidates having height less than 157.5 cms and weight less than 39 kgs are not acceptable whereas for female height less that 144cms and weight 36kg is not acceptable.

The eligible candidates are made to appear for competitive exams and once they successfully clear it, their names are published in newspapers for interview call. The candidates required to bring original certificate along with them at the time of their interview which will be based upon the rank of competitive exam and the selection chances increases only when they come under 500 final combined merit lists.

Medical examination is done to check the candidates physical and medical health issues so that they can perform well in Armed forces. The Board of officers at AMC, Pune, conducts this exam.
